Trees

Family

This past break I got to spend time with my mini-me. Isn't she beautiful? (She modeled in Japan. Totally bragging). She was kind enough to model for me while I experimented with my camera. Here's her "I'm done with this" face:

I also was able to catch up with my mom, my grandmother, and my Aunt Megan. Three of my favorite women in the world! I spent a few days in Portland with my aunt and Uncle Pehr. It was a happy vacation filled with great music and great food.

Yes, my grandmother's hair is still completely brown. I can only dream that I get her hair genes.

Oregonia

Over the weekend I went through all of my pictures from my trip to Oregon. It's hard to believe that I was able to grow up in such a beautiful part of the country. It was a place where I got to play with baby skunks, make forts under big pine trees, wear homemade dresses and eat apples nearly as big as my head. When I lived along the Columbia River I felt like Oregon was a place where magical things could happen...it still feels every bit as enchanting and mysterious.

Isn't it great going over pictures? I love catching things I missed the first time around, like the red barn in the first picture or the (very) delicate spider web strand in the fifth.

Friday Chambray

Shirt-J.Crew, Cardigan-H & M, Jeans-BDG, Shoes-Sperry Topsiders, Necklace-F21

I've been wanting a chambray button-up for the longest time, so needless to say when this came last night I was a bit giddy. Some other things that have made me happy lately: finding the film from my New York trip, the sky yesterday (and the fact that it's still warm enough for me to take my nightly walks), and macaroni and cheese + peas (As a vegetarian college student, it's become a staple in my diet. Who knew I'd miss it?). Also, I did a classic "A Musician Named Gob" performance for my roommates last night, which ended with me wearing a false mustache and lighting it on fire. Good times.

Home Again

It took getting back to my apartment to realize how much I missed it. I love my roommates! We clearly love to talk to each other:

I love Ashley's glasses here.

I look really awesome with curlers in my hair. (sarcasm)

I'm not looking forward to unpacking...

But I am happy to be back with my movies...(even with Adam and The Young Victoria missing. Where....?)

Especially now that I have these three additions.

Let a new semester begin!

The Sickness Continues

The worst part about being sick is that I don't want to do anything. I've become the village leper that crawls out of my hole only when I need to make more tea.

What I need to do (and normally would want to do):
-finish Eating Animals
-laundry
-pack
-work on my article
-work in my sketchbook
-break out the watercolors
-go for a walk

What I've done:
-watched Midnight in Paris (again)
-worked my way through a tissue box
-drank my way through a box of tea
-stared at my feet for an hour
